The Guyana national senior men’s team, managed by former Birmingham City and Derby County defender Michael Johnson, is 90 minutes away from making history by qualifying for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Guyana host Belize in the Nations League on Saturday 23 March 2019, knowing that a win will lead to qualification for the Gold Cup for the first time in the nation’s history. Last week, the Golden Jaguars were awarded a 3-0 win in their last fixture against Barbados, after Barbados were sanctioned for fielding ineligible players in the match.

With the top 10 teams qualifying for the Gold Cup, the decision places Guyana in eighth position with six points.
