Ian Baraclough

Oporto Sports is proud to represent Cheltenham Town Assistant Manager, Ian Baraclough.

Baraclough has joined the staff of fellow Oporto client Darrell Clarke until the end of the season.

This is Ian’s first permanent appointment since departing his role as manager of Northern Ireland in 2022. Since then, he has enrolled on the Masters in Sporting Directorship course at Manchester Met University, has regularly attended games and also worked as a pundit and co-commentator for various media outlets including BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio Leicester and Sky Sports News.

Ian has previously worked as manager of Scunthorpe United, Sligo Rovers, where he won three trophies in 18 months, Motherwell, beating Glasgow Rangers in a play-off to retain top flight status, and then an assistant role with Oldham Athletic, before becoming Northern Ireland U21s boss, beating Spain and finishing second in his qualifying group.
