The 2004 FA Cup runner-up, who captained Millwall on the day in a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United, also played for Wycombe Wanderers, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Gillingham and Whitehawk, before retiring from the game in 2014.
Speaking about the partnership, which will see Oporto Sports become Lawrence’s official publicists, director Dean Eldredge, said: “Matt is as dedicated and professional in his approach to his media career as he was on the field during his playing days.
“He is an informed authority on the game he loves, operating with genuine efficiency across all communication formats. Matt has a great deal to offer through his media work, and we look forward to supporting him as he develops his experience and portfolio.”
Lawrence made over 600 professional football appearances and prior to his playing days, whilst representing the England under-18 schoolboy team, he secured a full soccer scholarship at Hartwick College, Oneonta, New York, where he majored in American Literature and minored in Creative Writing.
