Lincoln City manager and Oporto Sports client Michael Appleton gave a revealing interview to Sportsmail’s Tom Collomosse ahead of the start of the 2020/21 League 1 season.
Appleton spoke about the difficulties faced by clubs during COVID-19, tightening finances with the introduction of the salary cap, and learning from his own experiences as a player and then in management.
Lincoln started their League 1 campaign with a 2-0 home victory over Michael’s former club, Oxford United, and followed this up with a 5-0 thumping of Bradford City in the EFL Cup second round on Tuesday, securing them a home tie with Premier League champions Liverpool in round three, next week.
