Chris Hargreaves leaves Bristol Rovers

Oporto Sports client Chris Hargreaves has left his role as academy manager of Bristol Rovers by mutual consent.

Chris has been at Rovers for six years, taking on various roles including under-21s coach, development squad manager; winning the Central League in 2019, and working at senior level as assistant manager to Graham Coughlan, helping to keep the club in League 1.

Since 2019, Chris has helped to oversee the progression of numerous academy talents including Kyrie Pierre and Brad Burrows, who both joined Aston Villa in 2021, whilst also helping the likes of Luca Hoole and Jed Ward to transition in to the Rovers first-team.

Speaking about his departure from Bristol Rovers, Chris said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Memorial Stadium, and will have many great memories, achievements and friendships from this period of my career.

“I feel that now is the right time for me to move on to another challenge. Whilst I am open to an exciting project within the game at all levels, it is no secret that I would love to make a return to first team football. I believe I have a great deal to offer to a club as I have extensive coaching, recruitment and leadership experience.”
