Oporto Sports is delighted to announce that we will be representing former Chelsea coach, Ed Brand.
Brand has over 17 years’ experience as a coach, joining Chelsea in 2009 and working at all levels from U12s through to U21s, before joining Swindon Town as Jody Morris’ assistant, gaining experience in League Two.
Qualified to UEFA Pro Licence level and enrolled on the Premier League NextGen course, Ed has won two FA Youth Cups, two U18 Premier League titles, one U18s Premier League Cup and also reached the UEFA Youth League final.
Ed has helped over 35 players that have gone on to make first-team debuts for Chelsea, including the likes of Marc Guéhi, Reece James, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall.
Speaking about the announcement, Oporto director Dean Eldredge, said: “Ed has an incredibly sharp football mind, and has worked with some of the best young players this country has produced in recent years.
“He is an exceptional coach, with high standards and a strong desire to develop players and help them to reach their potential. Ed is multi-talented with a high ceiling within the game. He can coach and manage, he can work in the UK or overseas, and he is comfortable working with players at all levels.
“We look forward to supporting Ed with his next steps in the game, and we are grateful to him for the trust he has placed in us.”
Ed’s most recent role was as Chelsea’s loan player coach, working with players on loan across the UK and Europe, and working with senior players including Raheem Sterling, Romelu Lukaku, Joao Felix and Ben Chilwell, before leaving the club earlier this summer.
