This statement is from Oporto Sports client, Jason Euell, following his departure from the role of assistant head coach of Cambridge United Football Club…
I would like to thank both Ben Strang and Garry Monk for appointing me as the Assistant Head Coach of Cambridge United Football Club last summer.
Whilst results on the field have not gone the way anyone would have wanted this season, I am proud to have represented the club, and to have met and worked with so many good people.
I respect the club’s decision to make a change and go in a different direction with their coaching staff. Whilst it is never nice to leave a club, I feel stronger for the experience, and I am confident these past eight-and-a-half months will help me when I move forward with my next challenge.
I would like to thank the board of directors for their support and guidance, and thank my colleagues, the staff and players, for being a pleasure to work with during my time at the club.
To the supporters, through the difficult times, you always gave the players your backing, and that is something you can be proud of – I am sure you will all continue to do that.
I wish Neil and the club all the best moving forward, and will look back fondly on this stage of my coaching journey.
All the best,
Euellie
