Johnson Speaks Out on BAME Management Opportunities

In an honest and frank interview with The Mail Online’s Jack Gaughan, Oporto client and former Guyana national team manager Michael Johnson has spoken out on his decision to turn his back on the idea of football management, as a result of the lack of opportunities offered to coaches from a BAME background.

Johnson, who is currently coaching England’s Under-21s as part of the FA’s Elite Coach Placement Programme, led Guyana to the CONCACAF Gold Cup finals for the first time in the nation’s history prior to his role at St George’s Park.
