Mikey Harris joins Oporto Sports

Oporto Sports is delighted to announce that we will be representing current Brighton & Hove Albion interim women’s first team head coach, Mikey Harris.

Qualified to UEFA Pro Licence level, with the LMA Diploma in Football Management, Harris has an extensive coaching career in the men’s game, having been assistant manager and then first-team manager of Salisbury City, holding the title of the youngest professional manager in English football at that time.

Harris went on to coach Portsmouth’s U18s and U23s for over three years, before a two-year spell working with Brighton & Hove Albion’s U18s, a year at The FA as a National Coach in the PDP, and nearly two years with Southampton U18s, winning the Premier League South title, prior to rejoining Brighton & Hove Albion and working as Academy Coaching and Pathway Manager (U15s-U21s), and his role now leading the women’s side in the WSL.

Speaking about the announcement, Oporto director, Dean Eldredge, said: “We were introduced by our mutual friend, and Oporto client Darrell Clarke, who couldn’t speak highly enough of Mikey as a coach, but more importantly as a person.

“Mikey is authentic, and is clearly very talented, well-respected and connected within the game. He strikes me as someone who is not afraid of a challenge, with an impressive adaptability within his skill set. We look forward to supporting him on his coaching and leadership journey, beginning with the exciting and prestigious opportunity he has as an interim head coach within the WSL.”
