Oporto Sports client and former Leicester City, Watford and Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson has spoken to BBC Sport this week about the subject of managers in the dugout during a game, what they do and why they do it.
Pearson has managed over 600 games, including winning two promotions, two spells in the Premier League, plus caretaker experience at the top level, one LMA Championship manager of the year award, and seven manager of the month awards over the top three divisions in English football.
Nigel spoke about using the time standing in the technical area to clear your head and cancel out noise, while also highlighting the importance of assistants and coaches and their specific relationships with individual players, referencing Oporto Sports clients Curtis Fleming and Jason Euell in the process, as well as discussing the value of authenticity in the role.
