Oporto Sports is proud to announce the creation of a partner company, Forum Sports Management, a professional football player agency and advisory service.
Forum Sports is the conception of former professional footballer James Pearson, joining with Oporto directors Dean Eldredge and Gary Webster, to complement their established work representing professional football managers for agency and publicity services.
Pearson enjoyed a playing career that saw him represent the likes of Leicester City, Barnet and Macclesfield Town before retiring in 2020 following a knee injury. During his time with Macclesfield and their financial issues, which eventually led to the club’s demise, he was acting as the club’s PFA delegate.
Eldredge is the agent and advisor to a number of managers including Nigel Pearson (Bristol City), Michael Appleton (Blackpool) Darrell Clarke (Port Vale), Steve Evans (Stevenage), Chris Hargreaves (Yeovil Town) and Ryan Garry (England U18s), with Webster a joint-owner of Oporto Sports and responsible for the company brand and creative.
Speaking about the partnership, Pearson said: “Between us, we have a great deal of experience across a variety of areas of the game. We want to help players with their development on and off the pitch, supporting them to realise their potential.”
Eldredge added: “It was the natural next step for us with Oporto growing as specialists working with managers. We were impressed with James’ business plan in the short, medium and long-term, as well as his enthusiasm and determination to establish a business with the right ethics and approach.”
