Andy Whing

Oporto Sports is delighted to represent Brackley Town manager, Andy Whing.

Andy joined Brackley following a spell of just under a year with League Two side, Barrow AFC, where he initially kept the club safe in the 2024/25 season, before departing them in December last year.

Prior to his time at Barrow AFC, he reached the National League play-off final and FA Trophy final with Solihull Moors, losing both agonisingly on penalties in the space of a week. His first permanent manager role was at Banbury United, where Andy won promotion to the National League North for the first time in the club’s history, and then kept them at that level the following season.

The 39-year-old enjoyed a successful playing career, representing Coventry City, Brighton & Hove Albion (loan), before a permanent move, Chesterfield (loan), Leyton Orient (loan), before a permanent move, and finished his playing days at Oxford United.

Whing’s playing highlights include scoring the last ever goal at Coventry’s Highfield Road ground, making over 100 appearances for the Sky Blues, and being voted as Brighton’s player of the year in 2009, while at Oxford he won supporters’ player of the year in 2012, goal of the season in 2013, captained the side in the 2013/14 season, and is regarded as a cult hero by the club’s supporters.
