Oporto Sports is delighted to represent former Northampton Town manager, Jon Brady.

Jon guided Northampton Town to promotion to League One in 2023, and departed the club in December 2024, having managed 200 games, recording an impressive 41% league win rate. In Northampton’s first season back in League One, he led the club to 60 points and a 14th-place finish, their highest position and best points total in 18 years.

Over his three full seasons in charge, Brady amassed a remarkable haul of 223 league points, the second-highest points total over a three-season period in the club's entire history, underlining the consistency, competitiveness and resilience of his side.

Prior to his time at Northampton, Jon was at the helm for Brackley Town for over six years and over 300 games, winning promotion to the National League North in 2012, departing the club with a 43% win rate.

With more than 500 matches as a manager, Brady brings with him a wealth of experience, having achieved two promotions, developing a reputation for strong leadership, tactical acumen, and exceptional communication skills. He is widely admired for his ability to maximise resources and build united, effective squads.

Born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, Jon enjoyed a distinguished playing career in England, winning the Isthmian League with Hayes in 1996, before winning promotion to the EFL with Rushden & Diamonds in 2001. He was also a Third Division play-off finalist with Rushden in 2002, and a National League play-off finalist in 2005 with Stevenage.

Speaking about the announcement, Oporto director Dean Eldredge, said: “Jon is a very talented and effective football manager. He has always found a way to outperform his budget and resources, galvanising his players to achieve success, even after heartbreaking setbacks.

“Jon left Northampton Town in a strong position last December, and can now look ahead with optimism to the next challenge in his managerial career. Jon is a winner and we look forward to supporting him as he continues to pursue his ambitions in the game.”
