Oporto Sports is delighted to announce that we will be representing former Charlton Athletic, Blackpool and Lincoln City first-team coach, Richie O’Donnell.
Richie gained the UEFA Pro Licence qualification last year, adding to his already impressive experience in practical roles.
O’Donnell began his coaching career at Hull City, completing over a decade at the club, working as a Youth Development Phase Coach for nearly seven years, before becoming Professional Development Phase Coach for nearly five years.
In 2020, he began a partnership with fellow Oporto client, Michael Appleton, working as a coach with him at Lincoln City, where they reached the League 1 play-off final, before joining Blackpool in the EFL Championship and most recently with Charlton Athletic.
Speaking about the announcement, Oporto director Dean Eldredge, said: “I’ve known Richie for a while now, and have always enjoyed his company, while admiring his professional skills and career achievements so far.
“Richie has a positive personality, is a hands-on, technical coach and has demonstrated adaptability within the roles he has held. We look forward to working with him, and helping him to continue his career progression.”
