Oporto Sports client Steve Evans guided his Stevenage side in to the FA Cup third round, following a dramatic replay win over Port Vale on Tuesday evening.
After being 2-0 down, two late goals forced extra-time, and a late goal at the end of extra-time levelled the tie at 3-3, leading to a 4-3 win on penalties.
Evans’ side will face a trip to National League South side Maidstone United on Saturday 6 January 2024, hoping to reach the fourth round, as they did last season with a landmark victory over Premier League Aston Villa.
Stevenage are currently in third place in League 1, following promotion from League 2 last season, and Steve was nominated for November’s League 1 Manager of the Month, and recently reached the milestone of 500 wins in his managerial career.
