Oporto Sports client Andy Whing and friend of Oporto David Flitcroft have both spoken to The Athletic’s Rob Tanner for a feature entitled, ‘Are managers ever relieved to be sacked?’
Whing talked about moving forward after the initial disappointment of leaving his role at Barrow AFC last month and wanting to get back to work, while also acknowledging how precarious the role of a manager is across the game.
Flitcroft spoke about trying everything, and trying too hard when he lost his job at Bury in 2016, but also spoke about the effect losing your job has on your family, your staff and their families too, and whether they have enough to support them financially.
